Teal Returns from Tour

MAYPORT, Fla. — Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Anthony N. Teal, son of Susan E. Cook of LaGrange and John C. Teal Jr. of Muncie, returned home from a four-month and two-day deployment aboard the USS Samuel B. Roberts (FFG 58) homeported in Mayport, Fla.

Jarema Graduates from OSUT

WAYNESVILLE, Mo. — Army Pvt. Caitlyn M. Jarema has graduated from One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Leonard Wood, Waynesville, Mo., which included basic military training and advanced individual training (AIT).

Roush Awarded Commendation

KENDALLVILLE — Lt. Matthew R. Roush was awarded a Naval Commendation medal in April.



Roush was in charge of establishing and overseeing tax centers at U.S. Naval bases located in the Southeast. The program provided legal tax services for more than 6,000 service members and retirees.



The bases under his leadership were located at NWS Charleston, NSB King’s Bay, Georgia, NS Mayport, NAS Jacksonville and Guantanamo Bay.

Wert Completes Training

SAN DIEGO — Kyle Wert, 19, graduated April 23 from United States Marine Corps boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot.

Stafford Promoted

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — On April 1, United States Marine Corps 1st Lt. Scott M. Stafford, a former Garrett resident, was promoted to the rank of captain by Lt. Col. Bunn

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Air Force Airman Joel A. Bunn graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.



The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Stockert promoted to sergeant

Jeremiah C Stockert of Kendalville, who is serving with Combat Logistics Battalion 6 in Afghanistan, was promoted to sergeant in early April. A Marine for six and a half years, he was promoted based on a variety of qualifications including rifle use, physical fitness, combat fitness, leadership and conduct. Harding

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Pvt. Sean Harding, 20, graduated on March 19 from U.S. Army basic training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.

Harding is currently at the Presidio in Monterey, Calif., at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center. He is studying to become a cryptologic linguist for military intelligence.

Strodtman

GREAT LAKES, Ill. — Navy Seaman Recruit Michael J. Strodtman, son of Christine A. Michael of Cromwell recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command at Great Lakes, Ill.
